RYAN CATHOLIC COLLEGE SENIORS HAVE BEEN SPARQ-ED
Ryan Catholic College, Kirwan students were given the opportunity to be part of a unique educational facility in Brisbane over the July school holidays. The University of Queensland and Queensland’s Department of Education established the SPARQ-ed Program (Students Performing Advanced Research Queensland), which aims to promote excellence and innovation in biological and biomedical education by delivering world-class specialist programs to Queensland school students and their teachers.
Townsville’s largest Catholic school, Ryan Catholic College has implemented a special cognitive acceleration program called Thinking Science.
Thinking Science is an evidence-based, two-year intervention program for Year 7 and 8 students consisting of 30 lessons. It aims to improve students’ general thinking ability with benefits, not only in science, but across all curriculum areas.
