Our Commitment to Sustainability
As a Catholic school, Ryan Catholic College is guided by the Gospel call to care for God’s creation and to act justly for the common good. Inspired by Laudato Si’, we recognise our responsibility to be stewards of the Earth and to model sustainable living for future generations.
We are committed to embedding sustainability into our school culture through education, action, and community engagement. This includes reducing waste, conserving energy and water, caring for our natural environment, and making responsible choices that respect the dignity of all people - especially the most vulnerable.
Sustainability is integrated into teaching and learning, encouraging students to develop a sense of wonder for creation, to think critically about their impact on the world, and to take meaningful action. Through prayer, reflection, and service, we nurture students to become compassionate, informed, and responsible global citizens.
We acknowledge the traditional owners of the land and waters, the Wulgurukaba, and that this country has been a place of learning and ceremony for tens of thousands of years. We also acknowledge the neighbouring language groups as brothers and sisters of the land. We pay our respects to elders past, present and emerging. May we walk gently and peacefully on this land together.
